Local building stock
Stirling’s buildings and the repairs they need
Stirling’s old town climbs towards the castle, with rubble and sandstone buildings, many listed, on steep streets. They need lime repointing, stone repairs, chimney work and harl, with materials matched to the original and consent where a building is listed. Bridge of Allan and Dunblane have large Victorian sandstone villas with the same needs, plus boundary walls and retaining walls on sloping ground.
Forth Valley industry
Forth Valley is one of Scotland’s main industrial areas. Grangemouth’s port and process industries, Falkirk’s manufacturing and distribution sites, and the bonded warehouses and food and drink producers of Clackmannanshire all depend on concrete slabs, bunds, plinths and floors that stay sound under heavy use. These sites need concrete repaired, corroded reinforcement treated and resin floors laid by a contractor who works to their induction and permit rules. We are CHAS accredited. Springkerse in Stirling and the estates around Larbert and Falkirk have workshops and units that need floor repairs and new resin floors.
Concrete and waterproofing
Many Forth Valley sites sit on low ground near the Forth and the Carron, where groundwater is high. Pits, sumps, plant rooms and basements on these sites need waterproofing that resists water pressure, specified after a survey of where the water comes from.
Clackmannanshire
Alloa, Tillicoultry and Dollar have Victorian mill and town buildings in sandstone, with stone and lime repairs common, and the Hillfoots villages have rubble stone cottages that need lime repointing.
Travel
Stirling is about an hour from our base in Dundee via the A9, and Falkirk and Grangemouth about an hour and a quarter. For multi-day work, travel and accommodation are included in the quote.

Local project
Grangemouth
Whyte & Mackay, Grangemouth
At Whyte & Mackay in Grangemouth we laid about 285 m² of polyurethane resin flooring inside an operational industrial facility. We mechanically prepared and repaired the concrete, then installed a 9 mm Vebrocrete PU HF system in mid-grey, detailed around the plant and pipework, with the movement joints reinstated.
- The requirement
- A bare concrete floor under fixed stainless steel plant, pipe racks and valve manifolds, with the plant staying in place.
- The work
- Plant protected, concrete mechanically prepared and repaired, then a 9 mm Vebrocrete PU HF polyurethane system laid up to every plinth, frame and drain.
