Complete stone boundary wall rebuild, Brechin
We rebuilt a traditional stone boundary wall that had deteriorated and needed extensive rebuilding. The affected sections were taken down, the foundations prepared and a new masonry backing built, then the outer face was rebuilt in natural stone and finished with stone coping.

The problem
The boundary wall runs beside a flight of stone steps at a traditional sandstone house. It had deteriorated to the point where repairs and repointing would not be enough, and large sections needed rebuilding.
Our solution
We carefully took down the affected sections of the wall and prepared the foundations. A new masonry backing was built to give the wall its structural strength.
The external face was then rebuilt in natural stone, laid to keep the traditional look and character of the original wall. The wall was finished with stone coping units along the top.
