The problem
The cottage is a single storey rubble stone building with a slate roof and a stone chimney. Sections of its natural stone masonry had deteriorated and needed repair. The repairs had to keep the traditional character of the building.
Our solution
We repaired and restored the affected sections of the existing stonework. The repairs and the repointing used masonry methods suited to the original construction, so the new work sits with the old stone rather than against it.
